WOW, what a year!
2023 has been a year of challenges for our NHS. It saw the release of the first NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan, which sets out interventions to train, retain, and reform the NHS workforce, as well as the most prolonged period of industrial action the NHS has ever seen. Waiting lists reached a high, with 7.75 million people waiting for routine hospital treatment in England.
Over the last year, we have seen our NHS partners navigate and adapt to the landscape of the NHS and face challenges head-on as they strive to deliver excellent patient care. We also celebrated with the NHS as it reached a milestone 75 years of being the backbone of our nation’s healthcare system, providing care, comfort, and hope to millions.
Agile Workforce is filled with pride and gratitude for the journey and the milestones we’ve achieved together.
We look forward to shaping a brighter future for our NHS.

Agile’s Neutral Vendor expansion
Agile Workforce was awarded neutral vendor provider from 29th January 2024. First-month successes: £42,300 saved, 35,500 hours booked.
"We have just completed the implementation of our new arrangements with Agile Workforce. The leadership on the implementation has been strong, with a clear plan of action to be undertaken and regular meetings to ensure tasks are in hand. The team have provided lots of stakeholder engagement, with both our internal teams and supply chain stakeholders to ensure that the transition to the new arrangements has been as smooth as possible. We are looking forward to seeing the results of what the new contract will bring and to developing our new partnership with Agile further."

Managed Bank: Agile’s proven success
Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust saw a 103% uplift in hours from the previous tech-only provider and £801,780 savings against the agency spend.
"Before we entered our contract with Agile the workload associated with the management of our medical bank was too much for the Medical People Services team, and we were only able to provide a limited on-call service. Since we have been in contract with Agile we have received excellent service from the team, who provide dedicated support for all aspects of the bank. We have seen a significant increase in the number of hours booked via our bank and are assured that all workers who pick up bank shifts are 100% compliant. I would recommend Agile’s bank services to any other Trust that requires additional support with their medical bank”
Matthew Dimmock - Head of Medical People Services, The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust saw 369,000 bank hours booked over the last 12 months with 728 actively working bank doctors

Insourcing success news
Agile Workforce has had 18 new contracts in specialities, including:
-
Dermatology
-
Gynaecology
-
Ophthalmology
-
ENT
Over 75% of clients have returned to us to support them again with insourcing support. 40,000 patients have been seen by Agile’s Insourcing teams.
"Overall, we were very pleased with this contract, the team was very responsive to our request and was able to mobilise a team at very short notice due to the urgency of the situation. Having had contracts in the past the team understood our requirements. The clinical team was excellent undertaking training prior to attending site and was understanding of the issues the Trust was working through the implementation of our new patient system, EPIC.
The insourcing manager and team worked well with us during the contract often making themselves available at short notice to discuss issues.
Patients were also happy with the service provided and our cancer performance improved significantly during the contract because of the additional support provided.
We look forward to working with the team again should the need arise."
Agile Workforce supporting charities
Agile is proud to support charities and colleges in our community, we’ve enjoyed taking part in several activities.
Craven College
Agile is proud to take apprentices each year from our local college. Our team also gives presentations to support their students in considering a career in recruitment or healthcare.
SELFA
When one of our previous colleagues was faced with the worst time of their lives, the team raised money by sponsoring Head of Clients Sarah Schofield and her 8-year-old son to abseil down the Cow Rock in Ilkley. £1700 was raised for the charity.
Skipton Step Into Action (SSIA)
Our team supported their Christmas Elves campaign with presents donated and volunteers from Agile helped sort and wrap gifts.
Quote below from SSIA:
“In total, we provided Christmas presents for 152 children across 59 families this year, across Skipton and the surrounding villages. Through donations of money, gifts and other items we raised in the region of £9500, which all goes directly to the families we support.”
